Spread the love

Free Fall by Khushi T. Saha

My take on the book:

Chrissy Smyth, an event planner who is free-spirited and optimistic, believes in love at first sight. She meets Aariv Abbas when she needs legal advice for her family’s business, as it got entangled with a dangerous Russian crime ring. Aariv is the exact opposite of Chrissy; a grumpy lawyer who is a cynical person and a workaholic, Aariv is always busy and did not spare time for anything else.

As expected they start on the wrong footing, sparks fly and there is an underlying tension; despite their initial dislike for each other, they are drawn to each other; will they eventually fall in love forms the rest of the story.

The story mixes the genres of romance novel — opposites attracting, cultural differences, and forbidden love. Filled with a rollercoaster of emotions — laughter, romance and heartbreak, the story engages the reader throughout. The author succeeds in narrating a story that is filled with intense emotions, while exploring family and cultural differences and how individuals can evolve through relationships. The sequences between the protoganists is passionate with a tender touch.

Though the story is engaging there are places, especially in middle sections, where the pace slows down. The secondary chararcters could have been developed better to add more nuance to the story. With the few drawbacks, Free Fall makes for a captivating read especially for fans of romance novels.

My rating:

4/5.
