My take on the book:
Sherry, the once celebrated actress, who is now facing tough times in her career seeks help from the four rich and influential men she once had secret relationships with. To her disappointment, none of them care to support her. In an attempt to avenge this humiliation, Sherry discloses about these four men in her autobiography, which once published will destroy their reputations and expose their dirty secrets.
These four men will go to any extent to stop Sherry and hence the publishing of the book; will Sherry fall victim to their plans again or will she beat them at their game forms the rest of the story. Alongside goes the story of Irina who is an aspiring actress, Wasim and Vikram who are writers. How are these three characters related to Sherry’s story is also important aspect of the book.
The title and cover along with the blurb are intriguing and will make the reader pick it. The writing is style is simple while the vocabulary can get heavy at times, which is the tricky part of this book; this could make it a favorite or not for the reader, depending on personal preference. The characterizations are interesting, so are the character names chosen by the author.
The story though drags at parts owing to unwanted descriptions, keeps the reader guessing for the majority. The story also exposes the murky and unglamorous side of show business. The backdrop and theme, though not unique are fresh and the author deserves appreciation for steering away from clichés.
Pick this one if you are a fan of thriller, especially the dark ones and would like to explore new authors and writing styles.
My rating:
