My take on the book:
Vivaan an automobile engineer is working on a path-breaking technology innovation in London, that has the potential to change fuel consumption for high-performance SUVs. Vivaan has been guarding his secret from the world, a secret he stumbled upon at the age of eight; any item that he touches, even a feather-light touch, gives him insight into the past, present, and future of that item/entity.
While Vivaan had been contemplating ever since he found out about his magical ability, if it is a curse or a boon, right when his research was expected to have a breakthrough, he is forced to return to India due to a personal emergency. Once back in India, how does Vivaan’s life change, why does he suddenly start seeing visions of a mystery girl and why he travels to Japan forms the rest of the story.
The story has a unique theme of the protagonist having a secret gift because of which he stumbles on details about everyone and everything around him, unintentionally at times. The story travels across locations as Vivaan tries to crack the mystery surrounding him. The blurb, title and cover create intrigue in the reader.
The story takes time to pick especially in the first half. The editing could have been better, as it could have made the reader’s experience better. Some plot threads could have been tied up better at the end, to make the narration robust. While the theme picked by the authors is different, the final treatment could have been better.
Pick this one if you like books from mystery and thriller genres and prefer trying new backdrops.
