About the author:
Shibaji is a practitioner in learning and development, also working closely in the wealth management space. He graduated from Ravenshaw College, Cuttack, followed by a post-graduate diploma from IISWBM, Kolkata. With two decades worth of experience in sales and distribution, he called it quits to be on his own. He is a life enthusiast, an uncompromising foodie and is known for his sense of humor.
My take on the book:
Aryan, a young unemployed man is trying to figure out his way in life, while struggling with the constant comparison with his very successful and talented siblings Rohan and Rhea. His father’s sudden death leaves him with no option but to step into his father’s shoes as the supposed head of the house as well as earn to keep his family going. This journey of Aryan includes his interactions with three ladies Kavya, Priya and Ahana who unexpectedly help mold Aryan into the person he never thought he would be. Where will life take Aryan in this journey and how these peculiar circumstances change Aryan in the process forms the rest of the story.
The story starts with description of a hotspot in a local neighborhood which is a chai stall and quickly gets into the story of Aryan and his family. How this locality and Aryan’s life are intertwined gets interesting as the story proceeds. The story should not be mistaken as a plain love story based on the title or the cover as there is more packed in between the pages than meets the eye. The author succeeds in developing female characters who are practical, independent, modern but relatable. The story has equal doses of family, love, emotions, along with socio-political undertones.
The story and character of Aryan can well be of any normal guy in this society. Aryan’s relationship with the three women characters and how they help him transform is the highlight of the story. The story and narration might take time initially to grow on the reader but once the narration pick up, the book has to be completed in one sitting. If you are looking for a novel feel-good story with the right mix of all kinds of emotions, then look no further.
