My take on the book
Abani is a moment away from ending his life when he reminisces his life from his happier days from childhood to losing his father in a freak mishap to his growing up years, how his mother toiled hard to make ends meet. With pure hardwork and commitment, Abani rises above his poverty and misfortune. But what pushed a self made man like Abani resort to the extreme act of planning to kill himself and what happens next forms rest of the story.
Though told in a quick but simple way, Abani’s story through the years is interesting and heart touching. The challenges he faces and how he rises above them are inspiring. But as life can take sudden and unexpected turns, a person like Abani breaks down emotionally, when his own family forget the value of relationships.
With a mix of emotions and drama, the story is sure to tug at the reader’s heart. The story also has a brilliant message given out in a subtle way, on how one incident can break a person while another can help them realize the worth of what they possess. How decisions taken emotionally can always go wrong, while a little thought can save the day.
Pick this one to be taken on the journey of a simple but strong man Abani, and how inspiration can be drawn from simple gestures of common people around us.
