You know that opposites attract. Does that mean like-minded repel?

Abeera Khan is a freelance fashion photographer. Till now, she has captured only tall and skinny models through her shutter eye. But when famous model Saher Khan offers an exuberant sum of money to cover her exclusive wedding at a distant resort, Abeera can’t say no.

She reluctantly accepts Saher’s offer. Not only because she needs money for her new studio but also because Saher is family. Even when they haven’t been in touch for years.

Is family reunion on the cards for this estranged daughter of the Khan household?

Kabeer Ahmad Shah isn’t quite clear what is luring him to Abeera but for sure he can’t take his eyes off her. The more he stares at her, the more he wants the girl. Soon his responsibilities take over as a host. But he fancies another gaze at Abeera all the time. The cute and lovely wedding photographer has captured his heart (but he doesn’t know it yet.)

Will Kabeer and Abeera’s story take off in the right direction and flowers of love bloom? Will the two matching personalities strike a balance and fall in love? Or will they hit “not-my-type” road block.

My take on the book:

Saher Khan, the hot and happening model is getting married in an intimate ceremony in Lucknow and lands at the studio of her long lost cousin Abeera Khan. Abeera though a fashion photographer by profession cannot deny the lucrative offer to cover the high profile wedding, as well as the chance to meet her extended family after ages. Abeera lands with her assistants Vicky and Swati at the Shanbagh palace, little knowing that her life is going to change forever as she meets the groom’s best friend Kabeer Shah at the marriage.

Among the group of attractive and rich females, all looking like each others clones, Kabeer finds Abeera a class apart for her simplicity and for being herself. Thus starts the love story of these two individuals who are similar but still poles apart. The rest of the story is about if love is all about happiness and if their story will culminate in a happily ever after.

The story line as a concept is thin and takes time to gain momentum, till it reaches the second half. It is more about the protagonists journey together, understanding and knowing each other, one day at a time, as the one week of marriage and pre-marriage preparations go on. The narration and the sequences make an otherwise predictable story interesting. Abeera and Kabeer have a nice character graph and are also very lovable, that they effortlessly draw the reader into the story. However, I would have preferred more depth to the relationship between Abeera and her extended family. Also a faster first half would have done wonders for the book.

Pick this one for a light read about a feel good love story.
